Born in Ft Polk Louisiana. Raised partially in Fayetteville N.C. where my mothers side of the family is still residing. My father, originating from New Orleans, was military so we did extensive traveling spending most of my teen years in Europe finally settling in Columbia SC.
After high school I enlisted in the U.S. Army doing several tours overseas earning the status of a veteran of foriegn war. Desert Storm being my first tour of duty in conflict. I was Honorably discharged in 1993.
Moving to Charlotte in year 2000 with hopes of working for myself, I enrolled in "Just for You" Barber College and graduated in 2001.
From 2002 to 2003 I was asked to do a show on "THE BREAKFAST BROTHERS MORNING SHOW" on Power 98 with BJ Murphy, Nate Quick, Tone X, and J.D.
The show gave me great exposure to the city of Charlotte which helped my vision for poetry in the city.
Returning in 2006 on Power 98, I was asked to transfer to 92.7 with Jay Delai on Fridays for an hour long show at 1pm called FOCUS FRIDAYS which lasted about 9 months. My partner Bluz took the position on the Power 98 morning show and is still on air on Fridays at 7:50 am.
Continuing my movement in poetry myself, DJ LIVE & DJ DR started "Poetry In Motion" at Liquid Lounge in 2002. From that year until now poetry has been consistent in Charlotte having at least one showcase event per week.
Determination allowed me to started performing with a band in 2004 at the Bricktop Lounge and moved the poetry moved to The Wine Up in 2005.

In addition, EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION extended an invitaion for me to host the fundraiser at Symphony Park in South Park to raise money for the King Family in July 2008.
In 2008 I started going into the High Schools doing poetry programs with elementary, Middle and High School students. I am currently working with Garinger High School, Westing House Elementary School and EE Waddell High School.
My mission in Charlotte is to bring the promoters, artist, and club owners together to form an unbreakable unit in entertainment.
There is no boundaries for poetry. Our company provides hosts and poets for fashion shows, weddings, church events, house parties, anniversary, etc.....
No matter what your event is POETRY can make it a success! Touch One Productions always does!
