Adams’s Discourse (AD) is the name of the 2nd act off of the Brazen Image & Sound imprint. Comprised of artists Nkok Sarise & Friday (Night Live), the act is a remix of the group Brazen, which was born in the golden age of hip hop circa 92-94. Then adolescents, these characters and a third-the Arkhitek- dreamed of hitting stages. They always placed more focus on contributing to the cipher, than finding stardom for sake of superstar status. ![]() Brazen would grow to record but never release an EP- Unseen, though doing several shows on multiple campuses and venues with the material from same. In college then, the Charlotte, NC natives capitalized on the regional cohesion of Raleigh-Durham and Greater Greensboro areas. Using NCSU & UNC student organizations KWU and Hip Hop Nation, Brazen tapped into the culture of student-life and expanded through commercial enterprise of NufacesNC.com. Their hip hop hustle afforded them a name amongst the NC hip hop aristocracy including Omatade & the Lower Thirds, Little Brother of Justus League, and Sankofa. Fast forward a few years and beyond obtaining degrees and engaging life decisions for career and marriage- a heart still beats for hip hop. Brazen Image & Sound LLC reorganized as an Audio-Visual Activist Agency (and not merely a hip hop label) in 2008 . Understanding the role of the artist as explained by scholar and artist Suzanne Lacy, the business model is adapted to promote and stimulate a nu-consciousness in a young millennium. Artists Nkok Sarise & Friday form AD and present in a language called hip hop, their perspective of the original man from creation to devastation of this world. Individual artists as well, they title themselves “REAA Hip Hop” as they Report, Experience, & Activate Art Hip Hop. |
